Rawmin plans to set up 100% EOU Bauxite Beneficiation Plant near Kolhapur in Maharashtra State with a higher production capacity and state of the art and good quality plant and machinery for which in principle approval has been received from the Development Commissioner, SEEPZ, Mumbai.

This would assure ensured supply of standard quality of Beneficiated Bauxite by Rawmin during the years to come on a regular basis.

Rawmin would be able to generate more export orders since its production capacity would also increase substantially. This would also lower the production cost and make its product more competitive.

Beneficiated Bauxite commands a better price in the international market and if the same is set up under Rawmin’s own management then the foreign buyers are more comfortable in placing orders for larger quantities. An ideal example of the same is case of Iron Ore exports from Goa. Large investments in mining, production and beneficiation plants and other infrastructure by the exporters has contributed to the generation of exports of iron ore from Goa on a much greater scale.

Exporters and Mine Owners in other countries like Australia and Indonesia have also set up such plants and their product is widely accepted by the buyers and the end-users due to its superior quality. Hence, if the same process is adopted in India, more orders from the consumers are expected since Rawmin would also be in a position to offer them a better product on a regular basis.

By virtue of the grant of an 100 % EOU registration, Rawmin shall be accorded priority for obtaining large Bauxite bearing areas on a lease-hold basis by the Maharashtra state government. This will enable Rawmin to mine and produce better quality of Bauxite, thus resulting in more export orders.
